Clinical Governance seeks to transform the culture, ways of working and systems of every health organisation so that quality assurance, patient safety, and quality improvement are an integral part of their everyday work. In support of the clinical governance agenda the Primary Care Trust has developed governance frameworks for Primary Health Care Teams, Community Nursing, Public Health and Health Protection. The frameworks aim to provide a tool that will help in the production of practice development plans and improve the quality of health care. The Clinical Governance Committee oversees clinical governance activity within the PCT and reports to the Board. Details may be found in the minutes.
