The PCT has a statutory duty to keep expenditure within its revenue resource limit. A monthly finance Board report is produced which details the year to date financial position and the forecast outturn. Areas that are overspending are identified and steps being taken to reduce or control expenditure are detailed.

At the beginning of each year a savings programme is produced, this is also monitored regularly to compare progress against plan.
