The PCT has a statutory responsibility to plan services for the people it serves. In order to do this effectively and to ensure that our plans are transparent and available to all our staff as well as the public, we produce a series of documents on an annual basis. These documents can be divided into two main areas:

• planning documents that demonstrate how we will achieve the Government's targets and how we will develop our services within the strategies outlined by the Department of Health, and
  
  
• performance reports that demonstrate the risks associated with achieving these strategies and how we are performing as a Trust.

Underpinning all of these is the PCT Strategy (the LDP), which describes how the PCT will achieve its targets and improve the health of the population it serves. This is based on the Local Delivery Plan, the PCT's 3 year plan. This is supported by an annual work programme.

In addition we produce Human Resource Strategies, Estate Strategies, Clinical Governance Plans, a Public & Patient Involvement Strategy, Health Improvement Plans and a variety of other temporary and long-term plans.
