Clinical Audit

Clinical audit is a quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes through systematic review of care against explicit criteria and the implementation of change.

The Gloucestershire Primary and Community Care Audit Group (PCCAG) is hosted by Cheltenham and Tewkesbury PCT on behalf of all three PCTs in Gloucestershire.  The group provides clinical audit advice and support to community and primary care based clinicians, practitioners, other health care professionals and staff working within the county.  The group aims to assist health care professionals constantly to improve their standards of care through reflective practice and clinical effectiveness.

The PCCAG has a service level agreement with Cheltenham and Tewkesbury PCT and publishes its annual report and other information on their website.

The PCCAG also includes the data quality team (formerly PRIMIS), who assist with the extraction and analysis of electronic audit data from primary health care teams in Gloucestershire.
