PCT People
The population of Cheltenham and Tewkesbury PCT is on average healthier than that of England and Wales. However, the commonest causes of death are the same as for England and Wales, being cancer and cardiovascular (heart and related) disease.
One of our responsibilities is to improve the health
of local people. We support the Chief Medical Officer’s ‘Ten Top Tips’ for Better Health.
Introducing PCT People
‘PCT People’ are a group of fictional characters, who have lifestyles and conditions typical of people living in and around Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. Many of our staff and partners have been involved in describing these first four ‘PCT People’: William, Leanne, John and Sally, sending in examples of what, in their working day, they might do to advise, help and support them, highlighting a wide range of health and social care services and skills available locally.
