When changes to GP surgeries are proposed in our area, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Primary Care Trust is responsible for consulting with Gloucestershire Community Health Council and the local community before giving approval for the changes to take place. The local Community Health Council is an independent local organisation, funded by the NHS, set up to monitor standards of the NHS and provide information and advice to the public.
