About the Professional Executive Committee (PEC)
The Professional Executive Committee, or PEC as it is often known, is the "engine room" of the PCT, responsible for the day to day running of the PCT and decision-making. It is a way of bringing the decision making closer to doctors and nurses who treat patients every day. The PEC is largely made up of clinicians such as GPs, Nurses and other professionals.
